Dude Review: Wow! what a scintillating whopper of a western romance. Great list of characters, supporting cast and strong play on emotion. Honestly I could relate to their woe's from a dude's purspective so I felt that I enjoyed that part of it, though some readers might get a little weary of the play on emotion that can make a growd man get some accidental dirt in their eye. Kernan does an excellent job of making you feel for all parties, good and bad, though I couldn't stop reading chapter after chapter trying to find out what would happen to the daughter by the sioux, and the author brings you around to feeling their pain too so that's very respectful. A medium rare dose of sexual tension as a bit more time is spent on the suffering, with two small rumbles in the jungle midway through the story which lead to funny consequences. Honestly I thought I wasn't going to really like this book, but for true Kernan fan's and for those who love this genre, I couldn't put it down and it quickly won me over. Brings back alot of john wayne the searchers for me. Lots of action and intense drama with a picture purfect ending that is dang near oscar worthy. This'll be on the top shelf on my kindle :-) Go git it!

Jenna Kernan just became a `must read' author for me. HIGH PLAINS BRIDE contains an intriguing storyline, suspense, realistic characters, fascinating situations, and emotional situations that capture your interest and hold you captive until the very end. As a mother, I couldn't help but ache for Sarah over the loss of her daughter. Thomas is a character I had to admire, he's never met his daughter but he risks everything to help Sarah find her. They have issues that need to be resolved but rescuing Lucia takes priority over everything. I was fascinated by the scenes involving Lucia and her time amongst the Sioux. While most of the tribe members were horrible to her, there's something about Eagle Dancer that endeared him to me. There were several characters in this story that I found unforgettable and would love to know more about what happens after this story ends.

I suppose it's to save paper/pages that a publisher makes the font size in any book about as minimum as you can get and High Plains Bride's fonts are so small they are beyond rediculous. I'm rating this based on my attempted to read it with prescription reading glasses and I couldn't. I suppose I'll try drugstore glasses next because I want to get through it. I review this book on not being able to read it rather than the story itself. If has a problem with a review based on the fact that I can't read it then perhaps they have some was of involving the publisher and getting them to put more pages in a book thus giving the words more space and therefore the font could be larger and I don't want to hear that a review is based on the material in the story as I've been a professional reviewer and all I can say is this book should have never been able to be sold with this font size.
