The Dragon Curse A Transference Novel The Transference Trilogy Bethany Wiggins Books
Bethany Wiggins has been one of my favorite authors ever since I read her first book, Shifting. When I read the first book in the Transference Trilogy, The Dragon's Price, it just solidified why I love her writing so much. She creates wonderful characters, amazing imagery, and situations that keep me engrossed to the last page. I preordered The Dragon's Curse a while back because I was so thoroughly immersed in the first book and couldn't wait to find out what happened to the incredibly loveable and fascinating characters Bethany has created. Once again, she didn't disappoint! I put aside everything today to read The Dragon's Curse - household chores, eating, and even my own writing because this book was just that good! My kids ran around avoiding chores and homework because I was too engrossed in the book to care. There was tons of excitement, some really great fight scenes that managed to be detailed without slowing down the pacing, swoon worthy romance, sweet lessons and nuggets of wisdom and truth, heartwrenching loss, and characters I was really sad to say goodbye to on the last page. This is well on its way to becoming my favorite series. I can't wait for the next book!Tags : Amazon.com: The Dragon's Curse (A Transference Novel) (The Transference Trilogy) (9780399551017): Bethany Wiggins: Books,Bethany Wiggins,The Dragon's Curse (A Transference Novel) (The Transference Trilogy),Crown Books for Young Readers,0399551018,Action & Adventure - Survival Stories,Fantasy - Epic,Romance - General,Blessing and cursing,Dragons,Dragons;Fiction.,Fantasy,Fantasy fiction,Magic,Magic;Fiction.,Princes,Princesses,Princesses;Fiction.,Children: Young Adult (Gr. 7-9),Dragon;Dragons;Romance;Love;dragon's curse;Sacrifice;Young adult;Fiction;Fantasy;ya;Action;Adventure;Princess;Trilogy;Book 2;Fate;Choice;Fantasy adventure;Sword;Fight;Destroy the world;Tragedy;Hatred;Curse;Forced marriage;fantasy;tween books for girls ages 11-14;adventure;books for 12 year old girls;books for 13 year old girls;fantasy books;teen fiction books;teen romance books;romance books;epic fantasy;teen books for boys;books for 14 year old girls;books for 12 year old boys;survival,Fiction-Fantasy,JUVENILE,Juvenile Fiction,Juvenile Grades 7-9 Ages 12-14,Monograph Series, any,TEEN'S FICTION - ACTION & ADVENTURE,TEEN'S FICTION FANTASY,United States,YOUNG ADULT FICTION,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Action & Adventure Survival Stories,Dragon; Dragons; Romance; Love; dragon's curse; Sacrifice; Young adult; Fiction; Fantasy; ya; Action; Adventure; Princess; Epic Adventure; Trilogy; Book 2; Second Book; Action-packed; Fate; Choice; Fantasy adventure; Sword; Fight; Destroy the world; Tragedy; Hatred; Curse; Forced marriage; two-headed dragon; Girl on cover; Fire on cover; Girl with sword on cover; tween books for girls ages 11-14; books for 13 year old girls; books for 12 year old girls; young adult fantasy books; fantasy books for teens; teen fiction books,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Fantasy Epic,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Romance General,Young Adult FictionAction & Adventure - Survival Stories,Young Adult FictionRomance - General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Action & Adventure Survival Stories,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Fantasy Epic,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Romance General,Young Adult FictionAction & Adventure - Survival Stories,Young Adult FictionRomance - General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION,Children: Young Adult (Gr. 7-9)
The Dragon Curse A Transference Novel The Transference Trilogy Bethany Wiggins Books Reviews
I loved the developing mythology/worldbuilding in this book as much as in the first. This is my kind of story.
Very minor spoilers. I read this in one sitting, it was impossible to put down! I was devastated at how the first book had finished, so i was thrilled that it didn’t take that long for us to see Golmarr again. I loved seeing Sorrow grow even more as a character, her seeing and experiencing even more of the world- a huge departure from her horrible upbringing, and for her to take control of her life. It was nice getting to know some of Golmarr’s brothers, and to meet new characters that will most likely be important in the last book. Oh, and we get to meet some of Sorrow’s extended family which was a pleasant surprise. I can’t wait to read the third book!
I cried at the end of book one, and cried again at the end of this book. It was not at all what I was expecting, so wonderfully unexpected and enjoyable. I want to spend more time with Sorrowlyn and Golmarr, they are such great characters. What started in book one is perfectly carried on in book two. I love the magic, I love how they learn to control it, I love their struggles - it is honest, true to character, and very well plotted and revealed.
Clean, with kissing. I’m passing the book on to my dragon-loving 15-year-old daughter now that I’m finished, with no concerns.
I love the cover! Strong and beautiful.
I love the strength of the characters, inside and out. Nothing is just gifted to them, they have to work for their gains. Much better than a “chosen one” with innate power.
Relationships in the book are beautiful.
I’ll be checking out everything else written by this author.
A great sequel to The Dragons Curse. Perfect for middle school romantics with a good touch of dragon fantasy.
What a great story and character development. The characters are flawed, just like us in the real world. They must be brave and overcome fears and obstacles. This was a fun and easy read for me, as an adult, so I recommend it for teens and up. You will slip into a world of magic when you read it!
This book has everything a great fantasy should, but it’s much more than just a great fantasy. Hidden in the words are treasures far greater than a dragon’s horde. The lessons about life and love are woven so beautifully within the story that I find myself full with each page. Full of joy, happiness, love. This book is a treasure to equal the treasure Moyana gives Sorrowlynn.
I love these books. And the second one does not disappoint! The story continues with Sorrowlynn learning to fight so she can go after Golmarr, her love who now hates her.
After some mishaps Sorrow learns that her life has been predicted and she must choose to follow the path. Gaining new friends and enemies this book continues the epic quest.
I adore both Sorrow and Golmarr. They have a love that is tested again and again. Yet they have to learn to get past obsicales together. The story does a great job of keeping you on your toes while making you read super fast to find out what will happen.
highly recommend to anyone who loves dragons, fantasy, and really good plots.
