Desolation Degeneration Book 2 eBook Mark D Campbell

Very hard to understand at first, but with effort it's worth reading, for the zombie freaks among us this is not a zombie book.
The books reads almost like Twilight Zone but better, poor guy wakes up in a very strange place, with strange creactures all around him, and my first thought was what the hell is going on!
But as I said just keep reading and all will be explaind, zombies, giant slugs, ghosts, scrap yards and parts of London.
I read all three books at once, if I had read book one only I may have given up on the other two, but glad I didn't.

Desolation Degeneration Book 2 eBook Mark D Campbell Reviews

First things first, I got a free copy of this book from the author via Goodreads, in exchange for a fair and honest review. I do not know the author personally. I was free to give this book any rating/review that I felt was appropriate.

I give this story 4.5 stars deducting only for the typos, but since that isn't an option. I will round up to five stars, because I honestly enjoyed this story.

Right from the start the character of Jerri, a young woman living in a post apocalyptic world, caught my interest. She was smart, independent and brassy. About 1/3 of the way in, the character of Jerri took a twist, which had me concerned about the remainder of the story. Yet this twist ended up helping the story/characters grow.

The events of this story move along rapidly, keeping this reader's attention locked in.

The Post-Apocalyptic (Zombies) setting of this world was richly described. It was easy for me to mentally slip inside the scenes of this book.

Adding to both the details of the setting and clues to the outbreak origin, in my copy of the e-book there were several FEMA Propaganda photos included. These Posters brought my mind back to the WW2 Propaganda posters, as well as giving some interesting history to the original outbreak.

Though this story is about Jerri and the survivors of the zombies apocalypse, it is also a cynical view of depending on any government or government agencies for help in extreme situations.

I am adding this strong caution There are some gory and dark twists in this story. I do not recommend this e-book to young readers.

Other than that, I feel that this story is sure to please a large range of readers such as; Post Apocalyptic, Dystopian, Action Suspense, and Zombie (Horror) readers
Book was a fast read and entertaining enough, but it is nothing exceptional. It will never make any best seller list.
Not amazing but not horrible. Decent read, nothing too terribly amazing about. Maybe tried a little too hard for the gory shock factor.
it was sad
I really enjoyed this book for the most part. It is well written with an exciting, original and fast paced storyline. My main criticism is that there wasn't a single sympathetic character in the novel and for me this was a major flaw. The 'heroine' was obnoxious and annoying, and her only redeeming feature was that she was not a complete psychopath like every other character in the book, although she came pretty close a few times. However by the end, I really didn't care one way or the other what happened to her and really, to hold the readers attention, you need to at least have one or two characters the reader can identify with and actually care about and 'root for'. Andrew showed great promise in the beginning but for some reason the author decided to sabotage Andrew's role as the book's only likable character very early on and to be honest it was all downhill from there where the characters were concerned Shame really, as in every other respect it was a very good read and held my interest to the end.
This was a good books. I love zombie stories. This isn't the same old, same old tired story. Alot of twists. Good ending for a change. I recommend this book to all zombie lovers.
A well written story about the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. Unfortunately, I never really got involved in the story. I think because I never really cared about the main character(s). I also didn't find the ending satisfying at all. It just didn't seem plausible within the context of the story.

I found myself putting down the book numerous times and not being anxious to pick it up again. With something I rate a 4 or 5, I expect to find myself reading the book until 3 or 4 am into the morning, because I can't put it down.
